Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet (10x15 inches or larger)
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 6-8 medium potatoes about 3 pounds, washed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 envelopes Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3-4 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

Preheat The Oven

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C). While the oven warms up, prepare your baking sheet by spraying it generously with cooking spray or rubbing it with olive oil to prevent the potatoes from sticking.

Prepare The Seasoning Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, Lipton Onion Soup Mix, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until the mixture is well blended, creating a flavorful paste that will coat the potatoes evenly.

Coat The Potatoes

  • Add the cut potatoes to the bowl containing the seasoning mixture. Using your hands or a spatula, toss the potatoes thoroughly, ensuring each piece is evenly coated with the seasoned oil.

Arrange On Baking Sheet

  • Spread the seasoned potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. This arrangement allows for even roasting and helps achieve a crispy exterior on the potatoes.

Roast The Potatoes

  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the potatoes for 35-45 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside. About halfway through the cooking time, use a wide spatula to flip the potatoes to promote even browning.

Notes

For those following a vegetarian or vegan diet, ensure that the Lipton Onion Soup Mix or any alternative used does not contain animal-derived ingredients. Additionally, substituting olive oil with avocado oil can offer a different flavor profile and health benefits.
