Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Baking dish or casserole dish
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mixing spoon
  • Oven mitts

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes Yukon Gold or Russet, peeled and diced into cubes
  • 1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley optional, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat The Oven

  • I always start by preheating my oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures the potatoes cook evenly and get that perfect golden-brown color.

Prepare The Potatoes

  • In a large mixing bowl, I toss the cubed potatoes with olive oil, Lipton Onion Soup Mix, garlic powder (if I want a garlicky kick), and black pepper. Mixing everything thoroughly ensures the potatoes are coated in that delicious onion seasoning.

Arrange In A Baking Dish

  • I spread the seasoned potatoes evenly in a baking dish. This step is crucial because overcrowding can lead to uneven cooking.

Bake The Potatoes

  • I bake the potatoes in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, stirring halfway through to make sure every piece gets crispy on the edges. The aroma during this step is absolutely irresistible!

Garnish And Serve

  • Once the potatoes are fork-tender and golden, I sprinkle them with fresh parsley for a pop of color and serve them immediately.
